As we welcome the season of fall, the season of the exhale, embrace the release of fall with breathwork, meditation, and gentle bodywork.
In Classical Chinese Medicine and Yin Yoga, Fall coincides with the element of Metal–representing refinement and letting go. This season is when our yin (receptive) increases and chi turns inward, channeling the fire's energy (summer's energy) into a process of harvest and release. The metal element gives us our ability to discern what serves us and provides our capacity for graceful release. When imbalanced, however, feelings of grief, rigidity, and difficulty letting go may arise.
Through gentle bodywork, meditation and breathing techniques, this class will work to channel, embrace, and bring balance to these tender emotions (that we sometimes want to avoid or hold too tightly). Rather than resisting the natural flow of release in and around us, we will practice welcoming the inward quality of fall with acupressure points, cleansing exhales, and supportive poses to allow your most surrendered self in this season.
